Chlorine dioxide is a biocide included in Article 95 of the EU Biocidal Regulation 528/2012.

For exclusive use in the disinfection of drinking water for human and animal consumption.

It is a highly effective biocide used for the control of bacteria, viruses, fungi, spores, algae, mites, parasites, biofilms, and pathogenic germs such as Legionella, among others.

When your chlorine dioxide order arrives at home, do not open it immediately.

First, place it in the refrigerator and wait for it to cool down. Once it’s properly chilled, you can use it.

Remember that the chlorine dioxide is already activated, so there’s no need to activate it.

When you’re ready to use it, simply dose 1 ml of the solution (or 20 drops) per liter of water. After that, your CDS-treated water will be ready for consumption.

How much chlorine dioxide is needed to purify water?

To purify water with CDS, use 1 ml (or 20 drops) per liter of water to be treated.

If it comes with a dropper, how can you measure the amount in milliliters?

The equivalence is 1 ml = 20 drops. In addition, the dropper has a small hole that allows you to insert a syringe if needed (now included as a free gift). If you prefer, the dropper can also be easily removed.

As long as the container remains closed, store it in a cool, dry place, protected from light.

Once opened and before using it, you should keep it refrigerated, in an upright position, and do not open it until it is properly chilled (between approximately 5°C and 11°C). This helps prevent the gas from volatilizing. Likewise, when using it, make sure to close it quickly so that the gas does not evaporate and the CDS remains in perfect condition.

How long does chlorine dioxide last once opened?

The expiration date on the bottle indicates the preferred consumption date. However, we recommend using it within the first 6 months, since although CDS does not technically expire, it gradually loses concentration, and eventually, only water remains.
